    Dosing

    With enclosed measuring cup: unless otherwise prescribed, infants (<1 year) and small children (1-5 years) take 2.5 ml 3 times daily, schoolchildren(6-9 years) and adolescents (>10 years) take 5ml 3 times daily and adults take 5-7.5 ml of solution 3 time daily.

    Duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the clinical picture; however, treatment should last for at least one week even in minor inflammations of the respiratory tract. Treatment with Prospan Cough Syrup should be maintained for 2-3 days after symptoms have subsided, in order to ensure lasting success of therapy. In the event of persistent complaints or the appearance of shortness of breath, fever as well as purulent or bloody expectoration, should be consulted immediately.
